Luck Stone Corp. has entered into an agreement to purchase the Jack L. Massie Aggregate distribution center in Williamsburg, Va. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The Massie family holds the construction business on the property and also will retain the 100-plus employees that work on the nonaggregate side of the business. Luck Stone will interview the employees who work on the aggregate side to determine if they will work for Luck Stone or remain with Massie.
ìThis acquisition adds significant capacity to our market presence on the peninsula and is a great complement to our two other distribution yards in the South Hampton Roads region,î said John Pullen, Luck Stone's chief growth officer and president of its construction aggregates division.
A privately held, family-run corporation, Jack L. Massie Contractor was founded in 1947. Currently, the company is led by the founderís two sons, Steve Massie, CEO, and Gary Massie, president. In addition to its construction business, Massie will also continue to operate its mineral resource facility and furnish topsoil, screened soil, and fill material.
