  • J. Thomas Hill will become president of Vulcan Materials' Florida Rock division Sept. 1. He replaces Thompson S. Baker II, who is leaving Vulcan to become CEO of Patriot Transportation Holding. Stanley G. Bass, president of Vulcan's midsouth division, also will be president of the southwest division. Bass replaces Ronald G. McAbee, who will retire.

  • Bill Schneider, Knife River president and CEO, testified before the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure on ARRA spending.

  • JCB added dealer Darr Equipment to cover Texas and Oklahoma. It also opened a factory in Sorocaba, Brazil, to produce excavators.
