The Industrial Minerals Association - North America has formed a new kaolin section. The founding members of this section are Active Minerals, Imerys, Unimin and U.S. Silica.
The first meeting of the section will take place at the IMA-NA Annual meeting in Park City, Utah, Sept. 28-30, where section officers will be elected, and a strategic plan developed.? Since its formation in 2002, IMA-NA has established 12 mineral sections, enabling IMA-NA to work on mineral-specific issues as well as address those that impact all or a part of the industry. In addition to kaolin, IMA-NA currently consists of mineral sections for bentonite/barite, borates, calcium carbonate, diatomite, feldspar, industrial sand, mica, soda ash, and talc/wollastonite.
