  • Knife River hosted Bolivian Governor-elect Santos Tito of the Oruro Province at its Isanti ready-mix plant in Minnesota. Tito is looking for potential partners for several infrastructure projects in his province.

  • Vulcan Materials presented at the Longbow Research Construction Materials Investor Conference.

  • Granite Construction's Senior Vice President and CFO LeAnne M. Stewart left the company. Vice President and Controller Laurel J. Krzeminski has been appointed interim CFO.

  • Allison Wenograd has been promoted to the position of vice president of member services for the American Road & Transportation Builders Association.

  • Mack Truck President and CEO Denny Slagle participated in President Obama's signing of a presidential memorandum to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve the fuel efficiency of medium- and heavy-duty trucks and buses.

  • FLSmidth-Excel and Excel Foundry & Machine paid Metso Minerals Industries $25 million to settle an intellectual property rights lawsuit.

  • Caterpillar recently constructed a remanufacturing and components facility in Singapore and received the Green Mark Gold Plus award from the country's Building Construction Authority. And, once expansion plans are completed in 2014, Cat will increase its China-based excavator capacity by 400%. Also, Cat will produce mining shovels ranging from 125-ton through 800-ton models.

  • ITT will purchase Godwin Pumps for $585 million. The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter. Godwin opened its Carson, Calif., branch.

  • Leo Hawkes is president of Volvo Financial Services, responsibile for the North America, Latin America and South Africa markets. Also, Grupo Auto Sueco Coimbra will take over the import, distribution and sale of Volvo Construction Equipment products in Turkey.
