US Aggregates Closes Plant

US Aggregates will close it Perkinsville, Ind., plant. The company stated:

"Over the last 13 years, our Perkinsville plant has proudly provided high-quality aggregates to its local community. The team maintained one of the best safety records in the entire country and served our customers with the same level of excellence. Unfortunately, the remaining product reserves on the property are not of sufficient quantity and are too challenging for us to continue to produce. Therefore, the difficult decision has been made to close our Perkinsville operation. We have stopped producing and will remain open as we sell out the remainder of our stockpiles over the coming weeks. We appreciate the community and business partnerships that were established during our years in Madison County and wish the area much success in the future."

US Aggregates was formed in 1967 with the acquisition of Meshberger Stone and S&S Materials. These plants produce quality limestone, sand & gravel materials for the construction, asphalt, and ready-mix industries in the Indianapolis and southern Indiana markets.

North American Limestone Company (NALC)’s operations near Cloverdale, Ind., were acquired in 2019. The acquisition includes NALC’s two quarry locations, 243 and Deer Creek, as well as its interest in a Fine Grind business currently operating under Mid Calcium Carbonates (MCC). The acquisition allows US Aggregates to expand its Indiana aggregates footprint and add additional Fine Grind processing capabilities.
