McLanahan Wet Processing School a Success

NOTD McLanahan 400McLanahan Corp. hosted its first Wet Processing School Jan. 27-28, 2016, at the Blair County Convention Center in Altoona, Pa.

More than 100 producer attendees, and a number of dealers had the opportunity to attend general and breakout sessions focusing on everything from basic washing and classifying systems to more complex plants and water-management.

Sessions on hydrosizers, sand tanks and screws, thickeners, filter presses and pumps and control systems were also offered.

Attendees came from as far as Hawaii and Canada to take advantage of the educational opportunity.

Mark Krause, managing director, North American Market Office for McLanahan, said, "This event shows that there is an increasing demand for more training focusing on preventative maintenance and operational efficiencies."

McLanahan previously hosted a Water Management School in Ontario, Calif., on Sept. 24, 2015. Those attending spent the day learning more about water management, fines recovery, thickeners/clarifiers and filter presses from McLanahan’s team of process design experts. Presentations covered maximizing and updating existing systems, as well as new installations. From basic processing to advanced automated systems, attendees left with a better understanding of how to create a safer, simpler and smarter operation, according to the company.

McLanahan will also present educational sessions at Rock Products' Frac Sand Insider Conference, May 10-11 in Lacrosse, Wis. The company will present a session on Frac Sand Production Techniques focused on the intricacies of operating a frac sand wet plant, and how to optimize their equipment to provide the highest yields and efficiencies; and a session on Water and Fines Management focusing on managing fines that can be handled immediately or turned into a sellable product using Ultra Fines Recovery Systems, Thickeners and Filter Presses.
