Lafarge Donates to Habitat for Humanity

Lafarge North America donated time and materials to a New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity (NOAHH) build site, as a reflection of its commitment to volunteering and to building better cities. Lafarge U.S. President and CEO John Stull was on hand to present a check to the organization on behalf of Lafarge U.S. and its employees.

“Helping in the construction of the communities in which we live and work is a core priority for Lafarge,” said Stull. “We are excited to be a part of this project today by contributing to building better cities in New Orleans and to support NOAHH in their efforts to promote homeownership in the area.”

More than 50 Lafarge employees, including Stull and the U.S. management team, donated their time to help construct a new home in the Hollygrove neighborhood of New Orleans. The work focused on constructing the framing and siding of the home.

“These types of projects are imperative if we are to support sustainable development and affordable home ownership to families in need,” said Jim Pate, executive director of NOAHH. "The relationship between NOAHH and Lafarge U.S. demonstrates how community organizations can work together to make a difference in their local community.”

NOAHH’s mission is to mobilize volunteers and local organizations to provide safe and affordable homes to hard-working families around the world. Donations and volunteer efforts from community organizations, such as Lafarge, enable Habitat for Humanity to serve over four million people worldwide.

Lafarge U.S. donates time and materials to Habitat for Humanity organizations across the United States as part of its commitment to building better cities and communities. As one of the country’s leading building materials suppliers and construction solution providers, Lafarge is committed to sustainable construction, and along with its focus on volunteering, looks for opportunities to work with local organizations like Habitat for Humanity to make a difference in the communities where they operate.
