Lehigh Hanson Ranks on InformationWeek Elite 100

Lehigh Hanson Inc. is ranked 43rd on this year’s InformationWeek Elite 100 – a list of the top business technology innovators in the U.S. Lehigh Hanson also ranked as the top company in the construction and engineering industry.

Lehigh Hanson was recognized for its implementation of a remote ticketing system at one of its aggregate quarries. This new system uses video cameras, microphones, speakers, RFID sensors and a print station – all connected to Lehigh Hanson’s data center. This technology-driven system helped the quarry reduce costs, increase efficiencies, streamline processes and offer its customers an improved experience. The company believes it will be able to implement a similar system in a number of its quarries across the U.S. and Canada.

“Lehigh Hanson is proud to be recognized for using innovative technology to improve the efficiency and service level of our operations,” said Bob Pischke, vice president of information technology at Lehigh Hanson. “A project of this nature clearly demonstrates the benefits of a close partnership between an IT department and the operations that drive revenue in the business. Through a collaborative effort and the implementation of industry leading technology, the company realized significant cost savings and improved operational efficiencies while also offering our customers a better experience.”
