Aggregate Industries US Rockville Quarry in Montgomery County, Md., presented the Friends of the Quince Orchard Library with a donation of $2,500 earlier this month. AIUS is a member of the Holcim Group, one of the nation’s leading manufacturers and suppliers of cement and mineral components.
“The Quarry’s gift to the Quince Orchard Library demonstrates Aggregate Industries’ commitment to serving our neighbors,” said Bernard Terver, president and chief executive officer of Aggregate Industries US. “Our employees consistently show that they’re in touch with their communities and have responded in a way which advances Aggregate Industries’ values of strength, performance and passion.”
The Rockville Quarry raised the money during its 2012 Quarry Earth Day event where attendees enjoyed free food and a range of activities, including bus tours inside the quarry to learn about mining, the region’s natural resources and AIUS.
Aggregate Industries US owns aggregate and construction materials facilities in 16 states and more than 300 cities.
