McLanahan Corp., Hollidaysburg, Pa., announced it has acquired crusher manufacturer Universal Engineering Corp., Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Universal was founded there in 1906.
Universal products complement McLanahan’s existing lines and add a new dimension to the dynamics of the company. For more than a century, McLanahan has been involved in in the manufacture of crushing equipment, with a focus on crushing soft minerals using roll crushers, feeder breakers and rotary breakers to process materials such as coal, salt and trona. Now, the Universal acquisition brings hard-rock crushing and apron, pan and wobbler feeders to the company’s line of products.
