Educational opportunities will abound at the 2012 Agg1 Aggregates Forum & Expo and World of Asphalt Show & Conference. The co-located shows will be held March 13-15, 2012 at the Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, N.C.
Attendees will be able to take advantage of more than 90 learning opportunities that provide practical, ready-to-use operational and management strategies and techniques. Attendees will have access to the sessions in the Agg1 Academy, the People, Plants and Paving Training Program and the Asphalt Pavement Alliance’s (APA) Asphalt Pavement Conference.
“Industry professionals need to keep up to speed on the latest issues that can affect their businesses; our show education offers convenient and affordable access to content-rich presentations on best practices and innovative techniques,” stated Show Director Melissa Magestro.
The Agg1 Academy will deliver practical and timely content for aggregates producers, suppliers and customers, developed by member committees of the National Stone, Sand and Gravel Association (NSSGA), which is Agg1 owner. Presentations will focus on areas including environmental; safety and health; plant operations; drilling and blasting; dredging; communications and community relations; management and business development; automation, technology and operations; and sustainability. All levels of industry professionals, from operators to foremen to managers, will benefit with information they can take back to the workplace.
The People, Plants and Paving Training Program is designed for paving contractors of all sizes as well as allied companies, with a focus on paving and plant operators, foremen, superintendents, project managers and owners. The latest methods in asphalt paving and production efficiencies will be covered in five program tracks: safety, pavement preservation, sustainability, paving and plant production. A sixth track will examine management and leadership skills to help company personnel achieve their maximum potential.
Program sponsors are the National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA), which is World of Asphalt co-owner, and Asphalt Emulsion Manufacturers Association (AEMA), Asphalt Recycling and Reclaiming Association (ARRA), Association of Modified Asphalt Producers (AMAP), International Slurry Surfacing Association (ISSA) and Rubber Pavements Association.
The Asphalt Pavement Alliance’s (APA) Asphalt Pavement Conference at World of Asphalt is of particular value to paving professionals in the public and private sector involved in the design, construction and maintenance process. The day and a half conference will feature three main topic areas – Innovations in Paving, Pavement Preservation with Plant Mix and Keeping Competitive. An interactive roundtable format will help participants share ideas and experiences to increase their effectiveness and reduce costs in today’s environment.
Conference sponsors with APA are the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) and the U.S. Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).
Attendees have access to all education programs at both World of Asphalt and Agg1. Education sessions offer CEU Continuing Education Credits or certificates of attendance to document Professional Development Hours.
