The 2011 Command Alkon Customer Conference in Las Vegas marked the release of the JWS Division’s Apex 5 suite of software modules for the bulk materials industry. Mining Media International editors were on-hand for the product launch.
A successor to Apex 4, which saw the Apex platform upgraded to a SQL Server environment, version 5 builds on that foundation with new features for every step in the quote to cash process.
According to the company, users will appreciate the significant enhancements to quotes and orders functionality including improved fax and email options, more user defined fields, the ability to attach documents, new delivered pricing option and the addition of destinations to the order hierarchy.
Dispatch and logistics adds more flexible cartage calculations, including support for multiple carrier pay scenarios, as well as additional enhancements to the tracking and signaling capability with COMMMANDtrack integration. The back office modules include a host of new features for improving the efficiency of pre-billing and invoicing processes.
Apex 5 is also the platform where Command Alkon will introduce COMMANDreplenish. COMMANDreplenish will include features that allow raw material orders to be automatically generated based on projected inventory levels and forecasted demand from Ready Mix operations. It also integrates COMMANDbatch into the supply chain allowing it to receive shipping notifications from Apex, the company said
