Mississippi Lime Co. is pleased to announce the expansion of hydrated lime production capacity at its Ste. Genevieve, Mo., operations as well as the installation of a new hydrated lime production facility at its Verona, Ken., facility. The expansions will begin to provide products available for customer demand in the fourth quarter 2011, according to the company.
The Verona plant is permitted for a capacity of 165,000 tpy of hydrated lime. The facility is uniquely situated in the Ohio River valley with close proximity to various utility customers.
The Ste. Genevieve expansion of 275,000 tpy will be capable of servicing both chemical grade and utility customers. Based on recent full-scale trial results, these expansions will include new technology to manufacture a new higher-performance hydrated lime designed for improved SO2, SO3 and HCl removal.
