The new John Deere MyMaintenance mobile application takes preventative maintenance and repairs to the next level for construction maintenance managers. The app enables users to view and document maintenance intervals by calendar date or by machine engine hours right on the jobsite or in the workshop.
“The MyMaintenance app gives users a plethora of information at their fingertips, including the ability to view equipment on a map, look at machines nearby, barcode scan a machine to see maintenance plans, access a parts list for maintenance and the ability to keep track of maintenance costs,” said Paul Garcia, product manager, John Deere WorkSight. “The application allows managers to view machines enrolled in a plan through Maintenance Manager that are due or past due for maintenance to efficiently increase uptime and performance. Repairs can also be documented even for machines not enrolled in a maintenance plan, and documenting a machine’s maintenance history can help drive higher residual value.”
The mobile application works exclusively for John Deere equipment with an active JDLink telematics subscription. It is available for iPhone and Android devices and is free to download in the iTunes and Google Play stores.
The new JDLink ROI Estimator by John Deere is proving how effective the telematics solution can be for today’s customer. The tool is designed to quantify the value of keeping machines connected using JDLink, and is part of a bigger effort to continually educate customers on technology and its benefits in improving productivity, uptime and lowering daily operating costs.
“Renewing JDLink licenses and upgrading the hardware can be a significant expense depending on the size of your machine fleet,” said Garcia. “The return on investment calculation is intended to demonstrate the value of using JDLink to optimize our customers’ operations.”
Using the new tool is easy. Customers visit roicalculator.deere.com and fill in the customer operational input functions, including average fuel cost, estimated idle time percentage and desired idle time percentage; from there, a final value percentage is calculated. Customers then enter their specific fleet information, including models, number of units and estimated working hours per day.
Once all information is entered, the calculate function will quantify the return that can be realized by making changes in the way a customer’s machines are operated. This information along with a John Deere dealer can be used to develop a business case to continue using JDLink.
John Deere’s GoPush mobile application is available for download for 1050K crawler dozer customers. The GoPush app brings convenience to the jobsite, with features to enhance productivity and efficiency.
“The features of the GoPush app were designed with our 1050K customers in mind,” said Mark Oliver, crawler dozers product marketing manager, John Deere Construction & Forestry. “The goal of the app is to provide operators and fleet managers a wealth of knowledge to make them more productive on the jobsite – all at the push of a button.”
The GoPush mobile app features include daily service information, recommendations based on extreme site conditions (such as operating on slopes), a maintenance checklist, machine setup, and icon glossary to easily and conveniently familiarize oneself with the instrument panel. GoPush also acts as an operator’s quick reference guide, allowing contractors instant access to information about their 1050K crawler dozer.
