Boart Longyear Launches Global Training Program

Boart Longyear launched its new global training program for drilling supervisors, drillers, driller assistants, mechanics, welders, manufacturing and other front-line employees. The training is based on the Australian Resources and Infrastructure Industry training requirements, the United States Mine Safety and Health Administration standards and the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety standards, customized for Boart Longyear specific rigs, equipment and tooling.

Mining technology developer Maptek released Vulcan version 10.1, together with Eureka version 4.0. Both are accessed and operated through the Maptek Workbench, offering users the first installment of a continuum of integrated technical software applications, data and workflows dedicated to mine planning, measurement and operations.

RAM Adds Critical Topics to Premier Surface Blasting Course

R.A. McClure Inc. (RAM) will hold its Premier Surface Blasting Course at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in Rapid City, S.D., from Sept. 6-8, 2017. In addition to the signature core curriculum, the three-day Surface Blasting course will add special presenter Randy Wheeler of White Industrial Seismology Inc., who will instruct attendees on proper seismographic placement, signature hole technology and wave form analysis.
