House Democrats Slam Mica’s Transportation Proposal

On the heels of Rep. John Mica’s (R-Fla.) announcement that the House GOP will pursue a transportation bill calling for only $230 billion in spending over six years, House Democrats slammed the proposal, calling it “inadequate,” “mindless” and “very sad.”

Mississippi Lime Announces Hydrated Lime Expansions

Mississippi Lime Co. is pleased to announce the expansion of hydrated lime production capacity at its Ste. Genevieve, Mo., operations as well as the installation of a new hydrated lime production facility at its Verona, Ken., facility. The expansions will begin to provide products available for customer demand in the fourth quarter 2011, according to the company.

Pine Bluff Sand and Gravel Co. Buys Ingram Materials Unit

Pine Bluff Sand and Gravel Co., Pine Bluff, Ark., and Ingram Industries Inc., Nashville, announced that they have entered into an agreement for Ingram to sell its Ingram Materials LLC subsidiary to Pine Bluff.

National Associations Combat EPA Initiatives

More than 120 national organizations, including The National Stone, Sand and Gravel Association (NSSGA) signed a letter sent July 12 to House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) calling for the swift passage of H.R. 2018, the Clean Water Cooperative Federalism Act of 2011.
