BMC to Construct New Transload Facility in Texas

A plot of land just south of Pecos, Texas, will become home to the newest transload facility for Badger Mining Corp. (BMC) in the coming months. Sitting on the Pecos Valley Southern Railway, which connects to the Union Pacific in Pecos, the nearly 300-acre site will accommodate 120 railcar spots after Phase I of construction is complete in early 2017.

“Badger Mining is positioning itself to remain a leader in the silica sand industry with multiple recent expansions in its distribution network,” said Steve Banker, logistics development associate at BMC. “This newest addition to the BMC family of distribution points is a result of intense research and planning, and in the end, all signs point towards Pecos.”

The transload, with its easy access to both state and interstate highway systems, will be staffed for 24/7 service. When complete, it will become BMC’s 25th transload facility in the company’s North American distribution network.

“Our customers are doing amazing things in the Delaware Basin and we look forward to supporting them in producing some of the best wells in the country,” said Adam Katz, leader of sales and marketing at BMC. “Increased proppant intensity will present new challenges in the future; with our new site in Pecos, we will have the scale and location necessary to grow right along with our customers.”
