First Unit Train of Sand Arrives at BMC’s Oklahoma Facility

Badger Mining Corp.’s (BMC) recently-opened Erick, Okla., transload facility received its first unit train of sand. The shipment adds to product already at the wholly owned and operated site, which primarily serves the Anadarko Basin.

The transload facility can accommodate up to 160 railcars of product on its 3,200 ft. of side rail and 7,400 ft. of working track, and is situated at the end of the Farmrail shortline railroad outside of Erick.

“The additional material, and simple fact that our facility is unit train capable, will expand our product offerings out of Erick,” said Adam Katz, vice president of sales and marketing at BMC. “The mixture of those increased offerings with the transload’s size and location within the Anadarko Basin continues to add value to our customers in western Oklahoma and northern Texas.”

The sand and coated sand products produced by BMC are used in a variety of industrial and environmental applications. The primary markets the company serves are oil and gas production (hydraulic fracturing) and metals casting.
