Frac Sand Insider Conference Set for La Crosse, Wis.


The Frac Sand Insider Conference and Expo will take place May 10-11 in La Crosse, Wis., at the La Crosse Center. Frac Sand Insider is a focused, informative event tailored to both experienced operators and companies just entering the industry. The event will give manufacturers and consultants an opportunity to meet directly with decision-makers from producers throughout North America.

Attendees will learn the intricacies of operating a frac sand wet plant and learn how to optimize their equipment to provide the highest yields and efficiencies. Everything from general process theory to optimizing individual pieces of process equipment will be discussed in detail.

Economic Impacts of Industrial Silica Sand (Frac Sand) Mining by Isaac Orr, Research Fellow, The Heartland Institute.

This session shows that industrial sand mining is a significant driver of economic growth across the Upper Midwest and when done in an environmentally responsible manner, can be an important source of employment and earnings for decades. The focus of the analysis is on Wisconsin, which has strong agricultural and tourism sectors and therefore provides valuable insight into claims industrial sand mining could negatively affect these industries.

Water and Fines Management by Matt Lear, McLanahan Corp.

General talk about managing fines that can be handled immediately or turned into a sellable product using Ultra Fines Recovery Systems, Thickeners and Filter Presses. Attendees will learn how these pieces of technology can help them recovery most of their process water and reduce the need for settling ponds all together.
