Twin Eagle Sand Logistics, a subsidiary of Twin Eagle Resource Management, opened its Evans, Colo., terminal in the heart of the DJ Basin. The Evans Terminal, which was commercially operational in February, is Twin Eagle’s fourth frac sand terminal and the first located in the DJ Basin.
The Evans Terminal is located on the Union Pacific Railway industrial lead track near the city of Evans in the heart of the DJ Basin. It currently has more than 160 railcar spaces and there are expansion plans to be unit-train capable next year.
Twin Eagle Sand Logistics is reportedly one of the largest independent frac sand terminal developers and operators in the country. Twin Eagle sand terminals are strategically located in the most prolific oil and gas basins. Locations include: Mission Rail, located in Elmendorf, Texas, in the North Central Eagle Ford; the Laredo Terminal located in the South Eagle Ford; and the Powder River Basin Terminal located in Douglas, Wyo. Twin Eagle Sand Logistics’ terminals combined control more than 900 rail car spaces with nearly 50,000 tons of storage capacity.
“Operational flexibility, reliability and proximity to the wellhead are of paramount importance to our sand customers today,” said Griff Jones, Twin Eagle’s chief executive officer. “Today’s market requires a relentless focus on keeping costs low through efficiencies realized across the supply chain. We believe that Evans is just the latest terminal in our network to deliver a low-cost solution to our customers.”
Headquartered in Houston, Twin Eagle said it provides wholesale energy and midstream energy services focused on creating value for our customers throughout North America.
Twin Eagle was founded in 2010 and has since grown to more than 475 energy professionals under the Twin Eagle name. Through its Midstream business unit, named Twin Eagle Midstream, Twin Eagle owns and operates crude oil and frac sand logistical assets and provides related marketing of crude oil and natural gas liquids.
