By Mark S. Kuhar and Josephine Smith
If it is March 4-8, 2014, in Las Vegas, it must be ConExpo-Con/Agg.
At ConExpo-Con/Agg 2014 you will witness every equipment, technology and product breakthrough available for the construction and aggregates industries. From earthshaking big iron to groundbreaking innovations, it’s all assembled in one place to help you make critical equipment-purchase decisions that will impact productivity and profitability in the years ahead.
ConExpo-Con/Agg 2014 will feature
- More than 2,400 exhibitors showcasing new products and technologies for every segment of the construction industry including asphalt, aggregates, concrete, earthmoving, lifting, mining, utilities and more.
- More than 125,000 attendees that range from contractors, to dealers and distributors, to service providers, engineers, producers, municipalities, and more.
- A comprehensive education program during the five-day exposition with sessions emphasizing industry issues and trends, management and applied technology.
Here are some of the products you can expect to find at the show:
AZFAB is an industry leader in plant and process design, being able to go beyond the traditional role of manufacturer and offer innovative solutions to key industry problems, according to the company. AZFAB offers dewatering screens, vertical durability cells, thickeners, hydro-cyclones, fractionator, and plate and frame presses. The vertical durability cell provides the scrubbing power necessary to liberate clays and allow for additional scrubbing.
Astec Industries Inc.
Astec Industries will exhibit a total of 42 pieces of equipment in its booth; 89 percent of which will be new to the industry.
See KPI-JCI/Astec Mobile Screens listing for product information.
Company will have several products on display at this year’s show. The PowerROC T35 E (pictured) is an extendable boom version of the previous T35 drilling rig. This no-cabin model provides straighter holes, more safety and comfort for the operator and easy-access maintenance. The PowerROC was designed with an aluminum feed system to drill straighter holes. The T35 E feed system also uses a cylinder with cables that drives the rock drill cradle to provide more consistent ground contact with the drill bit for higher quality holes. Atlas-Copco will also feature the FlexiROC D65-10 down-the-hole drill rig, the single-deck HS1 screener, and the PC3 impact crusher at its booth.
BMH offers concrete batch plants for vertical, low-profile or gravity installations, with reversing drum or twin-shaft mixers; automatic monitoring; seismic provisions depending on zone; small footprint configurations; and all-seasons output. The high-capacity RollMaster is a drum mixer that rotates forward at full speed to produce concrete, reversing at variable speed for discharge.
Company will exhibit new developments in hydraulics technology, including axial piston variable pumps, mobile controls, high-torque hydraulic motors, drive train solutions. Visitors to the Rexroth booth can expect to see a broad range of leading hydraulics technology used in loaders, cranes, telehandlers, excavators and other mobile equipment. The company will display several notable products and systems designed to boost energy efficiency, improve productivity, and expand capabilities of mobile machinery. In addition, attendees will learn about Bosch Rexroth’s new hydraulics manufacturing and engineering facility expansion at Fountain Inn, S.C., and new service center in Houston.
Breaker Technology (BTI)
BTI will showcase three new products at ConExpo-Con/Agg. The APV Mine Runner is a modern day solution for safety, lower emissions and increased productivity. The BXR185 is the company’s biggest hydraulic hammer yet, weighing in at 15,400 lb. with a rock shattering 18,500 ft.-lb. force. The fifth generation NT-E Series Rockbreaker (pictured) stationary hydraulic boom system, which comes with the newly engineered PP60 Power Pack, is loaded with innovative features such as robust connections, improved pedestal mounting and common cylinders sizes. The PP60 Power Pack comes standard with a 60-L reservoir, continuous oil circulation, oil level sight glass, temperature gauge, pressurized filter cap, pressure filter and starter panel mounting.
Brokk will announce the launch of two new machines to its lineup, the Brokk 60 and 400D to the North America market at their booth. At a height of just 34.4 in., the Brokk 60 is the smallest remote-controlled demolition machine in the world, noted the company. It features the same mounting plate as the Brokk 50 it replaces, so all the same attachments are compatible. Brokk developed the diesel-powered 400D (pictured) with all the benefits of the older model 330D in a heavier-duty machine. The 400D delivers a 60 percent increase in transport speed over its predecessor. The unit also boosts productivity with its new and improved control system.
