Atlas Copco Drilling System
Atlas Copco Construction & Mining developed a patented T-thread drilling system called T-WiZ, which has been designed to be the toughest (trapezoidal) T-thread system on the market. It features a stronger thread surface and other proprietary improvements to provide less wear on the threads and faster rod changes, with results indicating up to a 30-percent longer service life.

The new T-WiZ drilling system was designed to work in the toughest rock formations, including fractured rock that could result in off-line drilling or over-stressed threads. The T-WiZ drilling system provides better thread efficiency and greater thread stability for quicker rod changes. All drilling applications, including underground, construction and surface mining will benefit from this new design.

Keeping the standard (trapezoidal) T-threaded profiles allows you to operate the T-WiZ components with standard T-threaded components; however, the longer service life can only be achieved when the complete drill string is made up of Atlas Copco T-WiZ products. The secret is hidden in a stronger thread surface and other proprietary improvements to the T-WiZ drill rods and striking bars, the company said.

Bridgestone Tire Solutions
Bridgestone Commercial Solutions now offers a total tire solution that can save money and helps the planet as well. Five new tires in the Bridgestone Ecopia line for steer, drive and trailer positions; and four new tread designs in the Bandag FuelTech line that complement the drive and trailer Ecopia line-up, provide drivers and fleets a fuel-efficient and eco-friendly option from new tire through retread.

The advanced compounding for lower rolling resistance, the innovative, tread designs for long, even wear and the additional technology benefits from the Ecopia tire and casing solution could save up to 5 percent in fuel costs, when compared to leading competitors, and up to 29 percent in total tire wear cost, when retreading an Ecopia casing with Bandag FuelTech.

The new Cat 777G off-highway truck is built for outstanding performance, production and fuel efficiency in the 100-short-ton size class, according to the company. The 777G replaces the 777F; it achieves greater production with 7 percent more torque powering work and new transmission controls that produce quick haul cycles with automotive quality shifting. The production increases are balanced with new fuel saving strategies that include configurable economy settings as well as an adaptive economy mode that automatically optimizes fuel consumption based on the user’s production baseline, the company states.


With the ability to process materials up to 6-in. in diameter, the Turbo 128 V-Twin VSI Crusher is among the largest models in CEMCO Inc.’s complete line of vertical shaft impact crushers. The crusher is ideally suited for the production of 1 ½-in. aggregate, according to the company. Additionally, the Turbo 128 is fully customizable to enable production of several types of aggregate materials, opening it up for use in a variety of industries including energy production, mining and recycling.

Driven by a dual-drive, optimally balanced V-Twin motor design, the Turbo 128 V-Twin offers greater power input and higher product output. The Turbo 128 is available with up to 900 hp, weighs approximately 42,000 lb. and offers production capabilities up to 1,000 tph.

Eriez Electromagnetic Pulleys
Permanent Magnet Axial Interpole (AIP) Pulleys from Eriez provide ideal automatic removal of unwanted iron from materials conveyed on belts to prevent machinery damage and product contamination for sand, gravel, limestone, recyclables, wood products, glass cullet, chemical, mining, rock products, ceramic, paper, coal handling and foundry operations.

The axial interpole magnetic circuit provides a uniform magnetic field to remove tramp iron from material on almost any belt conveyor. These self-cleaning units – offered in permanent and electromagnetic designs – are available in 80 combinations of diameters from 8 to 36 in. (203 to 914 mm), and belt widths from 8 to 60 in. (203 to 1,524 mm).

All Eriez Permanent Magnet AIP Pulleys are constructed of quality steel center tubes with welded dividers to securely hold magnet stacks. Pulleys are all-welded, heavy-duty construction for use in severe applications involving extra-long conveyors, heavy loads or start–stop operations. Flexco Cordless Belt Cutter
Flexco announced the release of its Cordless Belt Cutter. Designed to provide quick and easy cuts on rubber, PVC, and fabric-plied belts, the portable tool is available in two sizes, according to the company.

The CEBC1 is capable of cutting rubber belts up to 1-in. (25-mm) thick and PVC belts up to 360 P.I.W. (63 kN/m) while the CEBC2 is capable of cutting rubber belts up to 2-in. (50-mm) thick and PVC belts up to 1140 P.I.W. (200 kN/m).

These cordless versions join the Electric Belt Cutter line of maintenance tools. The hand-held cutters are specifically designed to allow the user to cut belts easier and faster than traditional cutters, in addition to allowing for longitudinal cuts and angled cuts.

John Deere Excavator
John Deere introduced two customer-inspired excavators (160G LC and 210G LC) models that build on the success of the G-Series class. Led by the design of a more comfortable cab and Interim Tier4-certifed (IT4) engines, the new G-Series hydraulic excavators continue the John Deere tradition of reliability, power and productivity on the jobsite, the company said. Each of the new G-Series excavators feature rugged, field-proven IT4/EU Stage IIIB John Deere PowerTech diesel engines, enabling operators to work anywhere jobs are available, including non-attainment areas. The horsepower of these models are 121 hp (160G LC) and 159 hp (210G LC).

Three productivity modes (high-productivity, power, economy) allow an operator to choose the digging style that fits the task at hand. High-productivity delivers more power and faster hydraulic response to move material. Power delivers a balance of power, speed, and fuel economy for normal application and economy reduces top speed and helps save fuel. In addition, a “power boost” button on the right-hand control provides extra muscle to drive through tough digging conditions.

Kleemann Tracked Plants
Kleemann's Mobiscreen line has a screen for every need, from the quick-setup MS 16 and MS 19 – which are designed mainly for the contractor but are also at home within the quarry – to the larger MS 18 and MS 20, designed mainly for quarry applications and high output.

The Kleemann Mobiscreen line of tracked screens has been designed to complement the complete Kleemann crushing line from Wirtgen America, Inc. Track-mounted screen plants from Kleemann range in screen surface size from 8.4 to 22 sq. yd. They’re designed as a double-deck or triple-deck screen, with or without feed hopper, as a banana screen, with finger-screening surface, with rubber perforated panels, and more. The screens are suitable for use everywhere high outputs are required and heavy duty material must be separated.


Komatsu Loader
Komatsu America Corp. offers the WA500-7 wheel loader, powered by a Komatsu SAA6D140E-6 engine that is EPA Tier 4 Interim and EU Stage 3 emission certified. The environmentally friendly engine increases power while decreasing fuel consumption, according to the company.

As with every Komatsu Tier 4 Interim machine the WA500-7 comes standard with the Komatsu CARE Program, which provides complimentary factory scheduled maintenance for 2,000 hours or the first three years (whichever occurs first). Komatsu CARE also includes two complimentary Komatsu Diesel Particulate Filter (KDPF) exchanges within the first five years.

The WA500-7 has an operating weight of 76,611 lbs. when equipped with a 7.3 cu. yd. general-purpose bucket and a maximum speed of 22.1 mph. Enhanced operating performance, lower fuel consumption, improved operator comfort and easier serviceability are features of the WA500-7 that provide increased productivity and lower operating costs.

Martin Engineering Roller
In a move aimed at delivering superior rolling support for conveyer belts, Martin Engineering has introduced a new return roller. EVO Return Rollers help improve safety and prevent injuries by minimizing suspension and heavy lifting, while reducing the time and resources needed for service or replacement. Space limitations and access constraints are typically not an issue, as the idler roll can be serviced from one side of the conveyor.

The return roller also features an integrated fine adjustment to completely square the belt. The roll itself is one-piece, and the assembly includes a three-piece adjustable hanger bracket and swivel/pivot component, which allows the roll to be swung away from its support prior to removing the entire assembly.

McLanahan Hydrosizer
When extremely sharp classification is needed to separate granular material by size, the McLanahan Hydrosizer is comparable to screening but at only a fraction of the footprint and cost. For specific gravity separation, the Hydrosizer, or the LitesOut Classifier, offers an efficient and cost-effective solution.

Metso Screens
After two years of development, Metso released its Ellipti-Flo screening system, which will provide complete control of critical screen operating parameters. With the ability to dynamically adjust the stroke angle and force, the Ellipti-Flo can produce up to 30 percent more than a traditional banana screen in the same footprint. This is a revolutionary step forward in separation technology, and is exclusive to Metso, the company said.

The system can handle material that historically was difficult or impossible to separate, including sticky wet material that would blind a traditional incline machine. The Ellipti-Flo system also has newly developed high load, bearingless exciters. Based on Metso’s mill technology, this design gives the potential for a truly infinite life to the exciter mechanisms. The result is no rebuilds with very simple maintenance.


Powerscreen Warrior
Powerscreen launched the new Warrior 1400X screen, the company reported. Designed with economy in mind, reduced engine running speed and enhanced hydraulics, the 1400X offers a reduction in fuel consumption of up to 15 percent in comparison to its predecessor. This can translate into a substantial financial saving for customers over the lifetime of the machine.

Improved versatility and design specifications are other key achievements of the Warrior 1400X, with the screening angle range widening of 13-19 degrees. Standard stockpiling capacity on all conveyors has increased by up to 25 percent. With the chassis riser option and the telescopic side conveyor option, the fines and mid-grade stockpiling capacity is increased to more than double that of a standard Warrior 1400.

The TeleStacker Conveyor from Superior Industries is a heavy-duty telescoping radial stacking conveyor designed for efficient, dependable and safe operation. Built for high production, the TeleStacker conveyor offers the ability to stockpile 30-percent more material per move than similar radial stackers, and an operating tonnage ranging from 200 to 5,000 tph. The machine is available as a specially configured Mine Duty model designed and built for the mining industry and heap leaching applications in particular.

A key element of the TeleStacker conveyor design is the patented FB Undercarriage support system which offers added strength, stability and safety. Inspired by market requests for longer conveyors featuring wider belts and enhanced productivity, Superior strategically engineered the FB Undercarriage support system with enhanced strength and support in critical stress points, effectively reducing the deflection of the TeleStacker conveyor by 200 percent as compared to competitive units.

Telsmith Inc., an Astec company, introduced the new H3244 Hydra-Jaw, the largest model to date within the Telsmith Hydra-Jaw Series – advanced jaw crusher technology that offers lower operating costs, increased uptime and production capacity, streamlined operation and maintenance, and greater safety.
