March 14, 2012 – On the second day of the show, the 2012 AGG1 Aggregates Forum & Expo saw larger crowds and plenty of interaction both on the show floor and in the classroom education sessions. There was a very positive vibe as attendees and exhibitors conducted business and discussed issues affecting future industry growth, such as the highway bill, which as it was announced on the show floor, passed a Senate vote by 74-22. Action on the bill was cheered at KPI-JCI's The Road Connection press event, which also featured a talk by NSSGA's Government Affair Director Pam Whittig. Other events at the show included a press event from Volvo. Statistics on the show were released including:
- Record number of registered attendees – more than 6,100 industry professionals.
- Record amount of exhibit space – a 30-percent increase for a total of more than 115,000 net sq. ft.
- Record number of exhibitors – 408 – displaying the latest technologies and products.
- Near-record number of education session tickets - more than 6,000 - purchased by attendees for the shows' signature education programs.
